Planned Parenthood Joins Prevention Access Campaign’s U = U Consensus Statement

“Planned Parenthood agrees with the groundswell of research showing that successful, ongoing treatment of HIV reduces transmission risk to effectively zero,” said Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. “As HIV prevention and treatment advance and evolve, so must our patient care and education if we are to end the dual epidemics of HIV and HIV stigma.”

“We are thrilled that Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of sex education in the nation, has joined the U = U campaign to ensure that this groundbreaking science is incorporated into sexual health messaging for young people and communities most affected by HIV,” added Bruce Richman, founder of Prevention Access Campaign.  “Planned Parenthood’s leadership on this issue is especially important in a time when truth and science about sexual and reproductive health are under attack.”
