Brazilian Government DIAHV Updates Clinical Guidelines on Undetectable = Untransmittable

“The rationale for using the concept is supported by scientific evidence that antiretroviral therapy (ART) and undetectable viral load do not transmit the virus sexually. The term Undetectable = Untransmissible (U = U) is already used by scientists and reference institutions on HIV worldwide.

The Ministry of Health’s Clinical Protocol and Therapeutic Guidelines for Managing HIV Infection in Adults (PCDT) brings up-to-date recommendations for the composition of ART regimens to ensure treatment efficacy as well as the flow for follow-up care of PLWHIV”
