Christian Hui

Christian Hui is a queer poz settler residing in the Dish with One Spoon Territory, Turtle Island/Toronto, Canada and has lived with the chronic health condition since 2003. As the Senior Global Community Advisor at Prevention Access Campaign (PAC), Christian serves as one of the two North American Delegates on the NGO Delegation to the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board, and is committed to working collaboratively with people living with HIV/AIDS and civil society representatives from North America and other global regions to fight HIV/AIDS through ending inequalities. A co-founder of two people living with HIV/AIDS networks, Ontario Positive Asians (OPA+) and the Canadian Positive People Network, Christian had served on the boards of GNP+ North America and GNP+, and possesses living and professional experiences supporting and collaborating with diverse communities of people living with HIV/AIDS, including ethnocultural and migrant communities, 2SLGBTIQ+ people, people who use/inject drugs, people who have experienced incarceration, and people living with HIV/HCV co-infection. Christian was selected to serve as a civil society representative on the Canadian Delegation to the 2016 UN High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS, and is a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Vanier Scholar currently completing a doctoral program in Policy Studies at Ryerson University with a research focus on examining the effects of structural health privilege on the health outcomes of people living with HIV/AIDS and in co-creating health equity policies with members of the affected communities and policy stakeholders.
